evol

evol bowls
It can be difficult for those of us with Celiac Disease to find something not only gluten-free but something that tastes good, is healthy, and filling. Evol bowls are just what the Celiac ordered! The steak is real steak and is tasty. The fire grilled flavor was throughout the entire bowl of food.

GMO-free and rBST-free, evol is completely natural and some ingredients are organic. Their packaging is earth-friendly made from recycled board. The bowl itself is compostable made from sugar cane.

It heats up quickly in the microwave (under four minutes). I added some sour cream and a package of Wholly Guacamole 100 Cal Packs and it was almost restaurant quality!

These can be found in the freezer section of Akin's, Petty's and Whole Foods.

Santa Fe Cattle Co

Santa Fe Cattle Co has been a favorite haunt of my family's for about a year now. When I discovered I was gluten intolerant, I was concerned I wouldn't be able to eat here. Every Saturday we go to Wal-Mart and this restaurant is in the same complex so it's extremely convenient. It's usually really good. Although it did go downhill for awhile, it seems to be redeeming itself lately. The wait staff in the past has been pretty dismal but this past week when I visited, the server we had was especially nice and very accommodating. I told her up front that I was eating gluten-free and to please make sure there was no cross contamination. This was the first time I have eaten there since going gluten-free and I was impressed.

I ordered the smothered chopped sirloin with a baked potato. It's a half pound of chopped steak topped with sauteed mushrooms and onions then smothered in Monterrey Jack cheese. The meal came piping hot and was extremely tasty. I loved the steak and the baked potato. I had absolutely no ill effects and definitely plan on going back.

I am a KINDaholic

KINDaholic
-noun [kahyn-duh-haw-lik]
1. Someone with uncontrollable
love for KIND and spreading kindness.

KIND's all natural whole nut & fruit bars put an end to hunger by delivering all-natural nutrients like fiber, protein, calcium and iron. At KIND, we believe ‘you are what you eat,’ so while other companies often over-process, we take pride in crafting foods using ingredients you can see and pronounce®. Almond & Apricot is packed with almonds that help prevent osteoporosis and regulate blood pressure and Blueberry Pecan + Fiber is packed with antioxidant-rich blueberries that work to boost your immune system. Every KIND bar is made from all-natural ingredients that deliver a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals.
These are one of my favorite GF snacks. They are packed with vitamins and minerals and fill me up. They taste SO good too and aren't loaded with a bunch of junk including fructose corn syrup.

My favorite right now is the KIND Plus dark chocolate cherry cashew + antioxidants.
The Plus has extra vitamins and minerals so these are doubly good for me. These have 50% recommended Daily Value of Vitamins A, C and E.

I strongly suggest these. You can find them at Whole Foods, Food Pyramid, Akin's, Petty's, and at QuikTrip. QT is the only place I have seen the dark chocolate cherry so far. I really want to order a case of these! Run by and grab you one when you need something to fill you up and are in a hurry. QT has them on the other side of the check out counter where the other protein bars are located. Enjoy!

Note: They retail for 1.99 each but I think most places have them for less.
